An Old Memory Found Its Way Back Lyrics

Rhonda Vincent

I thought I had driven
You out of my mind,
When I crossed that bridge on memory lane and burned it one last time.
I told myself it's over
And I'm finally free,
But just when I thought I had burried your memory,
It shows up just like a bad penny.
(Chorus)
An old memory found it's way back home again
Old feelings that I thought I'd lost
have found their way back in.
Like an old dog that you drop off
just out side of town,
Uninvited coming back anyhow
An old memory found it's way back home again.
I swept every room when I cleaned house
tore up your old love letters
And threw all of your pictures out.
But I can't throw away what I can't see
I guess I fooled myself into believing
Forgetting you was gonna be easy.
(Chorus)
Why can't I keep your memory away
it's like a fire I can't put out
A cold that I can't shake.
(Chorus)
Yeah an old memory found it's way back home again.
